Art Installations

These are the projects funded by Burn Vic.

Great Balls of Fyre Where: Various, Main Stage during Fire Shows
It's impossible to truly describe Burning Man unless you have been there. One of the essential Burning Man experiences is that of fire art in all of it's many forms. When you hear the roar of the flame and see a ball of fire erupt into the night sky for the first time on the Playa, it is one of those quintessential Burning Man experiences that seems so unique and so amazing, it just makes you smile in wonder. By the end of the week, the dozens of fire balls lighting up the night sky seem almost commonplace.

This project is intended to bring back that moment of child-like wonder we have all experienced.

Sparkle Chandeliers Where: Red Light District Dome
Imagine laying down on soft pillows to the sound of tinkling chimes. As you look up a chandelier of hanging metal canisters and white LED lights create a soft glow and sparks of illumination like stars.
  By: Miss Bunny Ruffles
Attack of the killer Shrooms from Sporedom Where: The Mushroom Forest
Last year Sporedom experimented with Fungal Growth, Somewhere the Experiment went very wrong and the Mushrooms have turned killer. Maybe it was the radiation testing. Don't be fooled by the bright colourful lights, the mushrooms use that to lure in new victims.
  By: Samalander
The Shrine of Compassion Where: Beach between VelvetEars Lounge and Red Light District
"A place to rest and consider our hearts, and the hearts of others. A small shrine waits for you in the forest. Take a moment to reflect and connect. You are invited to write your messages and place them in the shrine. It will be burned at the end of the event."
  By: Claire Roberts
Doodle Art Where: Camp Motherworld
Blown up mandalas and other cool designs from the creator of Creative Instinct
Taped onto cardboard for the kiddos to take and colour anywhere.
  By: Lori Jason
Red Light District: Open for Business Where: Red Light District Camp
As the natural light fades the Red Light District comes to life. Moans and giggles can be heard in the shadows. Follow the lights to the camp that can give you a nice start or a happy ending.

UPS - United Pickup Service Where: Everywhere
Interested in being picked up at Otherworld? Come find Lolo, fill out a waybill that includes your name and OW address, the intended recipient's name, the type of pickup (hugs, makeouts, or *dirty dirty!*) and the location of pickup (anytime/anywhere, or a specified time and location), and file your waybill with UPS. Otherworld participants can come check in with Lolo to see if there are any waybills in their name, read the description of their available pickup, and then go off and find the pickup - or not - as they choose!

This is all about communication and consent, two of play's sexiest words. If you think it would be fun to do something with someone, let them know in an open and playful way, and find out if they think it would be fun, too!

VelvetEars Lounge Where: Umm, look for bunnies
Come see what's hopping at VelvetEars Lounge. We have an outdoor space for you to hop about, especially when tunes are whirling. We also have the “Wabbit Hole” for our 'indoor guests' who prefer it a little warmer with lots of fluffy interaction for a real 'Home away from Home' atmosphere. Yes, its soft, its plush but remember you Wascally Wabbits, its not mating season in there. Whichever environment you prefer, be assured that you will be looked after with the greatest of care. From the moment you step into VelvetEars you will feel like a part of the bunny collective. So sit back and relaxed & enjoyable your stay.

VelvetEars Lounge does not require a copy of your vaccination certificates for VHD and Myxomatosis but we do request that you make every effort to wear your ears. NO EARS - we may have an extra set on hand, just ask. While here you may wish to receive your 6-month/yearly booster. This shot is administered free of charge by a certified bunny.

We will be hosting a bunny breakfast Saturday morning. Many fluffy bunnies will be in attendance. Please check our Bunny Board for daily activities like our bunny hop, DJ sets, and any changes to our schedule.

Gnome Forest Where: The Gnome Forest (between Camp Bingo and Camp Fyre and Lanterns)
Gnome Forest is a theme camp for the gnome members of Burner households. Now you may think that you don't have any at your place but chances are that you do. I've been told that the gnomes heard their humans talking about the first OtherWorld event. They resolved they wouldn't miss the next one. Some intrepid gnomes stowed away last year and had a fabulous time. So they've spread the word and they're setting up their theme camp again.
  By: Carolyn "Penguin" Pullman
Riverside Hottie Tub Where: The beach, yo! (Below Camp Bingo)
Who likes hot water and hotties? We do! Our plan is to build a makeshift hottie tub at the river's edge constructed from 2x6s lined with a tarp, and heated with love (as well as a propane BBQ, copper coil and small electric circ. pump). But mostly love.

Saturday Afternoon Burn Clinic
