When: For various 6-hour shifts, June 26-28
Where: At Otherworld
Why: To help keep our friends healthy and safe

If you have no experience but still want to help:
Do you want to receive free first aid and CPR training? Do you want to support the Burning Man Victoria community at Otherworld?
On June 14, a free 8-hour first aid and CPR training session will be held for 12 applicants!

If you would like to attend this FREE training, please complete the following:

  1. Purchase a registration to attend the Otherworld 2009 event
  2. Volunteer for the Otherworld First Aid team (minimum of one 6-hour first-aid shift during the event June 26-28)
  3. Sign up for the free training.

We are also looking for people to volunteer as First Aid drivers, who drive anyone who needs transportation to the nearest hospital while the first aid attendant provides care if needed. A basic class 5 BC license is required. A vehicle will be provided.

If you have first aid experience:
First Aid attendants
should have some qualifications or training in First Aid and CPR. If you have an up to date certificate, great! If you have the training but its now outdated, that's cool too. Your time and intention is appreciated by all.

First Aid Shift information:
First aid volunteers must agree to be present in mind and body for the duration of their shifts. Both radio training and a refresher on the principles of first aid and CPR will be available at the First Aid Orientation. There will two orientations at the ranger/medtent at the following times:

  • 5:00pm on Friday, June 26
  • 5:00pm on Saturday, June 27

Please turn up for one of these sessions. They won't be long, but they will provide volunteers with valuable information, and an opportunity to connect with your ranger brothers and sisters.

There will be four 6-hour shifts per day (unless we get a lot of first-aid volunteers, then they will be shorter!).
